Bond, Jamesina Bond — national security in the Social Justice Warriors’ brave new world

Jamesina Bond Daniel Craig in wigI was discussing with a friend two articles today, when I suddenly saw the future — and believe me, it’s not pretty, or at least not any prettier than Daniel Craig in a lush blonde wig as he carries out his secret agent duties.  The first article involved the trauma Milo Yiannopoulos visited upon Rutgers’ students when he gave a campus speech challenging Social Justice Warriors. The second article was learning that the CIA is incorporating into its hiring policies the same activist mindset that SJWs have been demanding on American campuses. The resulting epiphany was how James Bond would play out in this Brave New World.

It all began when Wolf Howling and I speculated about the Bernie Sanders generation — who are they and how in the world did they get so stupid?  After all, despite socialism’s manifest and brutal failures everywhere it’s been tried (most recently in a collapsing Venezuela), this generation actually thinks socialism is the answer. Wolf Howling said, accurately, that the poison begins on college campuses. When he said that, my mind immediately summon up what happened after Yiannopoulos breached academia’s sacred domain to carry on his battle against the Social Justice Warriors (warning — AutoPlay video at link):

Students at Rutgers University were so traumatised by Breitbart Tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos’ visit to their campus that they had to hold a group therapy session, campus newspaper The Daily Targum reports.

According to the paper, students and faculty members held a wound-licking gathering at a cultural center on campus, where students described “feeling scared, hurt, and discriminated against.”

“A variety of different organizations and departments were present to listen, answer questions and show support” to the apparently weak and vulnerable students, who just a few days prior had disrupted Yiannopoulos’ event by smearing fake blood on their faces and chanting protest slogans.

One student at the event told the Targum that they “broke down crying” after the event, while another reported that he felt “scared to walk around campus the next day.” According to the report, “many others” said they felt “unsafe” at the event and on campus afterwards.

“It is upsetting that my mental health is not cared about by the University,” said one student at the event. “I do not know what else to do for us to be heard for us to be cared about. I deserve an apology, everyone in this room deserves an apology.”

Quite possibly the worst thing in the story was learning that it wasn’t just a bunch of whacked-out students who were clutching each other as they wallowed in terror at having to face a new idea. Instead, the worst part of the story was that the entire administration facilitated this mass personality disorder:

A number of organizations were at the event to offer support to the poor, traumatised students. These included Psychiatric Services, the Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance, and the Rutgers University Police. However, as far as we know, none of the protesting students were institutionalized, arrested for vandalism, or for assaulting the peaceful attendees of Milo’s talk with red paint.

After mulling over this sorry spectacle for a few moments, Wolf Howling, with some hope in his voice, said, “There’s no way that these cry-bullies are going to get coddled in the same way once they leave academia.” I would have liked to agree, but I couldn’t. I’d just read that the CIA is bringing the same ethos to CIA hiring policies, right down to the Social Justice Warrior jargon (warning — AutoPlay video at link):

The Central Intelligence Agency three-year “Diversity and Inclusion Strategy” includes a dedicated program to recruit transgender individuals and agency-wide “unconscious bias” training.

The plan, released by the CIA’s Diversity and Inclusion Office last week, lays out several goals for “weaving diversity and inclusion throughout the talent cycle.”

One agency goal is “Becoming an Employer of Choice,” and includes “dedicated programs” to recruit every demographic imaginable.

“Cultivating an inclusive culture that encourages collaboration, flexibility, and fairness enables all officers to contribute to their full potential,” the CIA plan stated. “When employees feel included, have a voice, and are given opportunities to develop and maximize their potential, we create an organization of choice and become a model employer for the full diversity of America’s talent.”

“We will continue to enrich our workforce by targeting diverse communities across the United States to meet our talent needs, with dedicated programs for citizens of African, Asian, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, South Asian, and Native American descent; Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Individuals; Persons with Disabilities; Veterans; and Women,” the CIA said.

Among the intelligence agency’s key actions to meet this goal is to teach recruitment officers to “strengthen cultural competencies and combat unconscious bias.”

The CIA will measure its progress of recruiting minorities, LGBT individuals, veterans, and women by using an “inclusion index.” The agency will also track “Diversity and gender break-down of applicant flow data and recruiting trends.”

CIA Director John Brennan said diversity and inclusion are “at the heart” of what the intelligence service is “charged to do.”

“This three-year strategy renews and strengthens our focus on diversity and inclusion and sets us on a course to further enrich our workplace and fully leverage our talented workforce,” Brennan said. “Combining what we have in common with what each of us brings as unique individuals is a powerful recipe for success. This is the kind of Agency our employees expect and deserve. Together we can make this happen.”  (Emphasis mine.)

The CIA is America’s spy agency. While Brennan thinks that diversity and inclusion are the CIA’s primary goals, I’m retrograde enough to believe that America’s national security is the CIA’s primary mission. Silly me. How could I have failed to realize that the United States government, under Professor Obama, has turned into a giant social justice experiment.

Spying is now, and always has been, a dangerous game. Indeed, I’d say it’s more dangerous now than ever because, in our Brave New World, America’s Secretary of State can reveal with impunity critical information about American assets. But thanks to this unholy liaison between academia’s victim culture and the CIA’s new policy of embracing these victims, I’ve got to wonder whether the next generation of CIA agents will be up to the task. And mind you, I’m not trying to say that blacks, or Asians, or transgenders, Native Americans, or gays can’t be extraordinarily brave. I’m saying that people who emerge from a victim culture, regardless of their race, sex, or sexual orientation, have already announced to the world that they’re not up to the rigors of . . . anything, let alone being America’s first line of defense.

It was at that moment in my cogitations that Jamesina Bond popped into my head, fully formed. Thanks to the combination of Leftist academia and Professor Obama’s pressure on the institutions he controls, we’re ready for a new James Bond.  This is a James Bond who has realized that his rampant chauvinism and compulsive womanizing were all an effort to deal with the fact that, ever since he was young, he knew that he was really a woman trapped in a man’s body. In his efforts to repress his transgender identity, he embraced a hyper-masculine stereotype. Now that he can finally be his true self, Jamesina Bond (or, Ms. Bond, as she likes to be known) has decided that America’s CIA is the place for her.

Jamesina, though, unlike that crude masculine stereotype “James,” is a social justice warrior.  Without that false masculine facade, is finally letting her feelings out. That’s why she needs to know in advance whether she’ll be spying on people who are fellow victims of white male hegemony, or whether they are themselves white male chauvinists attempting once again to use their ugly jackbooted feet to trample protected classes. In either case, because of her diversity status, she has some important information to offer the CIA about these spying targets.

While Jamesina knows that radical Islam is a threat to American security, she also understands that the Muslims are not acting this way because there’s anything inherently problematic in their ideology. Instead, Ms. Bond understands that they’ve been victims for decades of precisely the establishment she once represented. The white man has occupied their land, denied them economic development, allowed Jews to steal their homes, and failed to be sufficiently sympathetic to their simple needs (imprisoning women, crucifying a few Christians or gays, and having goats available for party time). Given how brutally England and America have treated the Islamic world, it just seems wrong for Ms. Bond to use her undoubted skills to spy on or even fight these poor Islamists.

That’s just her opinion, of course, but the CIA did say that they value the insights that come from a diverse work force. The fact is that she feels a strong sense of intersectional solidarity with the oppressed Islamic world and the American intelligence establishment needs to respect that.  Spying on them is just wrong.

Nor can Jamesina in good conscience spy on, or (Gaia forbid!) make common cause with newly created organizations in Europe trying to to defend against the so-called “Islamic Rape of Europe.”  Right off the bat, “rape” is a really triggering word. Now that she identifies with her female self, just hearing that word makes Jamesina feel unsafe.

This means that, if any of the mission briefs are even going to discuss rape, the CIA needs to put some serious trigger warnings in place so that Jamesina, and other victims of white male oppression, can process their feelings before having to read the briefs. Hearing white males talk about rape without acknowledging that they are the problem is going to be very traumatic for her. And no, it doesn’t matter that they’re trying to stop rape. Just talking about it is rape culture.

Aside from the whole rape culture problem, Jamesina is terribly worried that spying on these white male groups will expose her to other ideas that are deeply traumatic. What if they deny climate change’s role in driving Islamic terrorism or, worse, deny climate change altogether? While Jamesina understands that her role is to gather information, she’s worried that she may need immediate counseling if she has to hear climate deniers disparage Gaia’s suffering. Forget about the dangers of walking into a room wired for sound. The real danger for Jamesina is that she’s going to feel emotionally unsafe. Where will she go for a safe space? Who will give her a group hug?

Jamesina is also quite worried about the possibility that these white hegemonic males will make disparaging remarks about people of different races, praise police forces, make comments about women’s looks, etc. How will the CIA protect her from this type of mental attack and the resulting emotional anguish if she’s forced to listen to this as part of her employment?

All of these concerns mean that Jamesina, from her position of diversity, will have a suggestion for the CIA: For every agent employed in the field, that agent should have an accompanying therapist or grief counselor. Only in that way can the agent have the necessary support when spying activities force her into contact with downtrodden victims of Western imperialism who are just trying to right the balance with their plans for world domination or, worse, make her listen to Western white males whose every utterance lacerates her delicate sensibilities.

I know — that’s pretty heavy-handed parody.  I freely admit it’s lousy, but I’m telling you that America is in for serious trouble when her national security agency, without embarrassment, sees its primary directive as supporting the same Social Justice Warrior worldview that has corrupted America’s higher education system. In a few years, especially under President Sanders, you’re going to wish that my Jamesina Bond parody was the worst that’s happened.
