The Bookworm Beat 10/25/16 — the CLINTON BULLIES edition and open thread

leftist-bullyScott Adams says don’t let Clinton’s unconscionable bullies win. Scott Adams, who’s called this election season with amazing accuracy, has written what may be his most important post to date. In it, he calls out the bullies that populate the Clinton camp. Unsurprisingly, Adams has lots of stories about bullying from the Left, including car keying, sign stealing, public shaming, and even job loss. But that’s business as usual on the Left. This is what really gets Adams’ goat:

Team Clinton has succeeded in perpetuating one of the greatest evils I have seen in my lifetime. Her side has branded Trump supporters (40%+ of voters) as Nazis, sexists, homophobes, racists, and a few other fighting words. Their argument is built on confirmation bias and persuasion. But facts don’t matter because facts never matter in politics. What matters is that Clinton’s framing of Trump provides moral cover for any bullying behavior online or in person. No one can be a bad person for opposing Hitler, right?

[snip]

Yes, yes, I realize Trump supporters say bad things about Clinton supporters too. I don’t defend the bad apples on either side. I’ll just point out that Trump’s message is about uniting all Americans under one flag. The Clinton message is that some Americans are good people and the other 40% are some form of deplorables, deserving of shame, vandalism, punishing taxation, and violence. She has literally turned Americans on each other. It is hard for me to imagine a worse thing for a presidential candidate to do.

I’ll say that again.

As far as I can tell, the worst thing a presidential candidate can do is turn Americans against each other. Clinton is doing that, intentionally.

Adams’ post is a must read, must share post. If you’ve hitherto been lukewarm about Trump and feel that Hillary is the “safer” candidate, ask yourself if a candidate is really safe when she and her followers are bullies who are perfectly ready to destroy the American fabric if that’s what it takes to gain power (or, rather, to keep the power Obama has aggregated in the government).

The Clinton campaign and media bully the public with false data.  One Clinton bullying technique is to saturate the news with polling data that appears to show Hillary with a giant lead. The purpose, of course, is to demoralize Trump supporters so much that they simply stay home because they believe that the energy and time it takes to vote will be wasted.

How do we know that the Clinton campaign is working with the media to fake polling data? Because the Podesta emails describe the technique and — quelle coincidence! — that’s exactly the technique the drive-by media is using with its polls.

The other way we know is because of the reality on the ground (yeah, reality still matters). Trump draws 20,000 people to his rallies; Hillary is lucky if 100 show up. That is, even as the media machine tries to demoralize Trump supporters, it’s Hillary supporters who can’t find the time and the energy to be in the same room with the woman they hope will be the next president.

Fear is a classic bullying technique.  Jeff Dunham amusingly points out yet another way in which Hillary and her team bully the American people into supporting her agenda and voting her way:

Emotional abuse is a favorite technique for bullies. This one poster sums up perfectly why so many Americans who refuse to be victims but, instead, what to regain control over their destinies, are turning to Trump:

Bullies rig elections. It’s been very disturbing watching Hillary Republicans insist that the election is not rigged and that it’s just terribly déclassé for Trump to act just as Gore did and insist that he will ensure that, if he loses, it’s a fair and square loss. How these establishment types can claim that everything’s on the up-and-up is a mystery now that Wikileaks has revealed that Hillary rigged her primary against Bernie and that she’s using the same tactics in the main election.

Neither Kurt Schlichter nor Robert Spencer are fooled. They understand that the entire political and media establishment in America is working hard to put Hillary in the White House. I urge you to read both of their articles in their entirety, but I’ll share a bit from each with you to whet your appetites.

Here’s Kurt Schlichter:

The system is manifestly rigged – even Heap Big Chief Warren used to say so until a memo informed her that this meme is now inconvenient – so spare me your sanctimonious crap about our sacred system. Our loyalty is properly only to the Constitution, not a perversion of it. Just because you hold office under Article I, II, or III doesn’t mean we still owe you respect or deference when you treat your obligations to the People like a teenage Thai boy at one of Raymond Burr’s Halloween parties.

We owe the system nothing. Nada. Zip. Instead, the system owes us fairness and honesty, and without them it has no right to our default acceptance of its results. That acceptance must be earned. This means that the system must aggressively police its own integrity, and this year it has utterly failed to do so.

[snip]

[T]he media is not merely biased but an active partisan player for the Democrats. The media ignores what hurts the left (remember the 24/7 coverage of Project Veritas? Good times) and plays up nonsense that helps it (remember the 24/7 coverage of Chubby de la Cartel Chica? Bueno times). The media, as it loves to crow, is a vital component of the system, but only when it at least pretends to be objective. By going full Goebbels – never go full Goebbels – it undercut and wrecked the foundational ability of all citizens to be heard and respected and to believe that they are competing on a level playing field. If you aren’t one of the mouth-breathing drool donors in love with Hillary, do you feel you’ve been heard or respected? Do you believe Trump has been able to compete on a level playing field?

And here’s Robert Spencer:

Anyone who still trusts those outlets as reliable sources of news — and they are legion — will be bombarded daily with the message presented in a thousand ways: Trump is an ignorant blowhard who got the Republican nomination because of the shocking reservoir of racism and bigotry in America. His plans to build a border wall and limit Muslim immigration are stupid, impracticable, evil and divisive.

Whatever the merits of Trump and his positions, they have never — not once — gotten a fair hearing in the mainstream media.

The mountains of evidence of Clinton’s flagrant corruption, meanwhile, merit barely a mention. Friday I saw, to my surprise, a feature on CNN on Wikileaks: the Podesta friendship with and censorship of supposedly objective reporters? The pay-for-play scandal?

No, not a word about those things: CNN was reporting on how a Wikileaks email revealed, in 2015, that Clinton campaign operatives were worried that Al Gore might not endorse their candidate.

And now we know why all this is happening. We now know that, despite their pretensions to the contrary (which are still believed by all too many people), mainstream media outlets are propaganda arms for the Left and the Democratic Party.

Again, read both articles in their entirety. They will enrage you and, I hope, power you to the polls.

Megyn Kelly tried and failed to bully Ivanka.  Back in January, the New York Times put together a chart showing all the people Trump has insulted.  Keep that chart in mind as you watch this video in which Megyn Kelly tries to get Ivanka to admit that her father is a misogynist. Ivanka has the perfect rebuttal and the chart proves she’s right. Trump’s not a misogynist; it’s the women who are crybabies. (By the way, when was the last time you saw a media figure challenge Chelsea about her father’s brutal record of sexual assaults, rape, and harassment against women, and about her mother’s decades of covering for him, including attacking his victims? The last time I saw it was never.)

It’s not just Donald. The media will destroy any Republican. Warden, at Ace of Spades, came up with a brilliant idea, which is to posit the attacks the media would level against Jesus Christ were he to run as a Republican. Here are just a few examples, but you really should visit his post:

Using mind games to make the bullies stay home. While Trump supporters as a whole haven’t engaged in the despicable, unethical, fraudulent, and often illegal bullying that characterizes the Clinton campaign and its media arm as a whole, Scott Adams reminds us that there are ways to make our vote count twice — if you can use persuasion techniques to demoralize a Hillary voter, you’ve effectively given your Trump vote twice the weight. Go here to learn how to sort of hypnotize your Hillary loving friends into staying home.

BDS bullying is a pathway to violent antisemitism.  One of the Left’s favorite bullying tactics is to go after Israel. That their facts, both historic and current, are wrong is irrelevant. That they are supporting a sick, homophobic, racist, misogynistic society and attacking a healthy, moral, pluralist society is also irrelevant. Well, actually it’s very relevant. The Left doesn’t like healthy and moral societies.

Anyway, I’m getting distracted by the baloney that underlies the Boycott, Divest, Sanction movement. What I want to discuss is the BDS movement’s risible contention that it’s not antisemitic, even though it’s attacking the only Jewish nation in the world; it is, instead, claim BDS proponents, merely anti-Zionist.

Noam Ohana understands the lie behind that claim, since he saw in France how quickly BDS morphed in violent antisemitism, indistinguishable from the attacks on Jews in the early years of the Nazi era:

It all started with words. Those of the French mainstream media, which presented the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in such a one-sided manner that there was little to distinguish it from some of the most virulent press in the Arab world. After a few years of slander and portraying the Zionists as sadistic child-killers, the machine could not be stopped. The Zionists became the Jews. Those who want to ignore the relationship between the Al-Jazeera type of reporting that took place since the 1990s in France on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the revival of vicious antisemitism, do so at their own risk. The anti-Israel passion that one can observe in the US today among a growing number of so-called “progressives” is very similar to what we experienced in France. It is no surprise that the number of anti-Semitic incidents on US campuses is on the rise, and that almost all of them emanate from a minority of BDS activists who cross the line.

[snip]

Where does this rhetoric end? It always ends at the same place, at the gates of Jewish schools. When Mohammed Merah stormed into a Jewish school in Toulouse in March 2012 and shot dead Arieh Sandler (6 years old), his little brother Gabriel (3 years old) and Myriam Monsonego (8 years old), he claimed he was just “avenging Palestinian children”.

Bad things happen when you empower criminals. One of the pillars supporting the Democrat party for the past year is demonizing police and empowering criminals. When criminals think that they are immune to arrest and prosecution, as they increasingly are in Obama’s America and will continue to be in Hillary’s America, you get things like this:

Although news reports are coy, Joe Lauletta is not: It was a black mob. I don’t identify the mobs’ race to say something scathing about blacks. I raise it to point out that, because the media and the Democrat party (but I repeat myself) have created an environment in which police officers are warned not to police blacks, enterprising blacks will respond rationally by engaging in activities that were previously prohibited. I’ve said for years, and I’ll say again, that the worst thing that the Democrat party does to blacks is to refuse to hold them responsible for their behave. Blacks are like every other rational actor in the world: If you think you can get away with murder, unless you have a strong core morality (another thing Democrats deny to blacks) you’ll try murder.

Milo is right about the transgender bullying inflicted on America. Milo is obnoxious all of the time. He’s also right most of the time. And in this case, he’s absolutely right about two facts: (a) Transgender people are mentally ill (and I say that, not as an insult, but as a tragedy) and (b) that American culture is destroying itself by denying reality and, instead, accepting as true the twisted fantasy of transgenders:

Anorexia Nervosa is a mental disorder. When detected, the sufferer will receive counseling and other mental health treatment to stop their destructive behaviors and learn to recover both mentally and physically.

Many sufferers of Anorexia end up leading normal and productive lives, and even maintain a healthy weight.

Now imagine if Anorexia was on the LGBT spectrum.

How would treatment differ? The Anorexia would not be called a mental disorder, but something else, something non-offensive, maybe a condition.

It would be encouraged by parents and mental healthcare providers. The trans-eating would be praised for their strength and encouraged not to eat. They might even get surgery to remove some ribs to be even thinner.

It’s sick and disgusting, but that largely describes how gender dysphoria, formerly known as gender identity disorder, is treated today.

Even the DSM-V, the manual which is used to diagnose mental disorders, has bowed to the pressure of the establishment, which insists that trannies are healthy and legitimate. Their 2013 edition made the change from a “disorder” (Gender Identity Disorder) to a “condition” (gender dysphoria).

[snip]

In short, and this is the concept the entire left and LGBT spectrum rejects: reality DOES NOT and CAN NOT conform to delusion.

Trannies can never be women, or men for the small slice of women insane enough to desire to give up female privilege.

Trannies suffer from an astronomically high suicide rate after having their genitals mutilated. Some theorize that they realize they did not magically turn into women, and cannot handle this truth. Regardless of the reason, that this treatment continues is a travesty of medicine.

Every study shows the same thing: post-transition depression and suicide rates do not change or get worse.

One study in Sweden, which ran for 30 years, found the suicide rate of post-op trannies is 20 times higher than the normal population. Is that not the definition of medical malpractice? When a doctor’s operation leaves the patient 20 times more likely to die?

[snip]

These are terribly broken people. They are some of the most damaged amongst us, besides my ex-boyfriends. They need therapy, treatment, and to learn to live with the gender they are.

In my opinion, in future times we are very likely to look back at gender reassignment surgery with abject horror. We will wonder how the people of the time still known 50 years in the future as “current year” were able to justify butchering the bodies of mental patients to play along with their cruel delusions.

He also discusses the child abuse that has fame-seeking parents forcing their prepubescent children into a non-biological gender identity, with some parents going so far as to find crackpot doctors willing to mutilate a child forever; the fact that women are going to get squeezed out of sports when men decide to call themselves “women;” and, of course, the bathroom wars. The whole thing (which was a speech he gave at a university in Delaware, is worth reading.

By the way, in speaking of how cruel he can get, Milo says something else important, something that reminds me of the times when the children would respond only if I got screamingly angry:

A lot of people think I like making jokes about transgender people because I’m a heartless, sadistic, cruel, bitchy, monstrously uncaring gay bastard. And they’re almost right.

I am a heartless, sadistic, cruel, bitchy, monstrously uncaring gay bastard.

But that’s not why I do it. I do it because nothing else is working. I do it because America and the rest of the west is sleepwalking into one of the cruellest mistreatments of a small but vulnerable slice of the population.

My words don’t hurt anyone. But subjecting children to hormone therapy and mutilating their genitals does.

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. As I said before, Milo’s right.
