Things you might want to read, from the Watcher’s Council and more

I’ve had for several days day a few reading recommendations (both books and blogs) I wanted to pass on to you. Without further ado, here they are:

Ray Zacek, whom I met through my blog, has been a friend of mine for a long time. He’s a wonderful writer who has published several e-books I highly recommend, especially Daguerreotype. He’s now a contributor to a new book of short stories called Appalling Stories: 13 Tales of Social Injustice. I haven’t read the book yet myself (see the image to the left), but it sounds like fun, especially for this blog’s readers:

With political correctness gobbling up the culture like a fat kid on his sister’s quinceañera cake, where do you go for quality, old-school entertainment?

Appalling Stories focuses on themes and characters you’re just not supposed to read about anymore, using social issues as the setting, not the plot. Inside, you’ll read about a disturbing erotic resort that caters to an exclusive clientele, a violent Antifa group biting off much more than they can chew, a serial killer with a furious inch, and a lot more.

The authors find message fiction as tedious as you do, and traditional publishing seems intent on shoving favored narratives down readers’ throats. This anthology pushes back against PC moralizing, bringing you story above all else. Are you going to let Social Justice Warriors dictate what you can and can’t read?

Consider this your trigger warning.

Another friend of mine, Mike McDaniel, wrote one of the best posts I’ve seen yet explaining the Nunes memo’s implications. I know that the memo’s been out for more than a week, and we’re already on to the Grassley memo, and awaiting the Horowitz report, but the Nunes memo is important. It doesn’t exculpate Trump from the Russia collusion claim (there are other sources for that), but it’s extremely important insofar as it shows the FBI’s and the DOJ’s willingness to abandon the law to achieve their ends. Anyway, I’ll let Mike explain.

Over at WOW! Magazine, the Watcher’s Council website, I joined with a few others to discuss the President’s State of the Union Speech. It may already be receding in the rear view mirror as time marches on but, gee!, it was a helluva speech.

Lastly, and this is something I haven’t done in a while, I wanted to make you aware of all the other good stuff you can find at WOW! Magazine. Here’s a snapshot of posts for the past couple of weeks (not including mine):
