The Bookworm Thinker for 25 Oct. 2021

Welcome, all, on this date of 25 Oct.  On this day:

1415 — On this, St. Crispen’s Day, an English army of longbowman protected by lightly-armored infantry under Henry V,  achieved a legendary victory over a significantly larger army composed of heavily-armored  French knights, at the Battle of Agincourt.  The Battle would eventually be memorialized in Shakespeare’s play, Henry V.

Now on to the important part of this post.

Ms. Book W. Room, writing under the nom de guerre of Andrea Widburg, is employed by the conservative site, American Thinker, to edit submissions to the site and to write several daily posts of her own.  Below are her posts on this date.  Since commentary to the posts are restricted at American Thinker (long story), feel free to comment on the day’s offerings below.

Today’s Offerings:

Too many Park Rangers have a reductive, negative view of America

I recently saw, I don’t know where, a report that National Park Service (“NPS”) employees are extremely progressive. After my visit to Fort Sumter today, I know that’s true for at least one such employee. While the older museum at Fort Sumter still presents a balanced view of events at the Fort from 1861 to 1865, for this employee the only takeaway lesson was that America enslaved people and abused them. She managed to reduce the grand panoply of American history, and the drama of the Civil War, to a one-note issue.

That the NPS, like every other branch of the federal government, is a hard-left institution is predictable because it hires college graduates. American colleges have as their primary mission leftist indoctrination, including anti-Americanism. Back in 2017, for example, after Donald Trump’s inauguration, NPS employees used official social media accounts to attack him because they disagreed with his positions on climate change and unlimited Muslim immigration. It was offensive partisanship from ostensible “public servants.” . . .

In completely unsurprising news, Facebook employees hate conservatives

Conservatives who post on Facebook know that the site routinely censors their content. Now, though, whistleblowers are offering concrete proof confirming what conservatives have intuitively understood: One of the most important vehicles for modern communication has lots of employees who hate conservatives and their ideas.

Three things routinely happen to conservatives on Facebook: (1) Facebook rejects entirely something they post because it violates Facebook’s “community guidelines.” Efforts to get that decision reviewed always fail. (2) Facebook has allowed people to post something, only to slap it with a “disputed” or “fact checked” label. (3) There’s the infamous “sensitive content” label . . .

In the Twitterverse, truth is a punishable offense

Richard Levine is a mentally ill man who believes he is a woman.  When an Indiana politician pointed out on Twitter that Levine is a man, Twitter suspended the politician.  In true Orwellian fashion, the leftist Tech Tyrants are trying to force us to deny reality.

Levine’s claim to be a woman is biologically impossible and quite obviously ridiculous.  He has a man’s DNA, a man’s body habitus (no ovaries on that big guy), a man’s appearance, and a man’s voice.  He has never developed hips or breasts, has never had a period, and can never become pregnant or nurse a baby. . . .
