A conversation between Little Bookworm, who is in fifth grade, and me:

LB:  Can we watch Little Miss Sunshine [an R rated movie]?

Me:  No.

LB:  Why not?

Me:  Because even though it’s a good movie, it’s not appropriate for you.

LB:  But Michelle watched it. Why did her parents let her watch it?

Me:   Because her parents have different standards.

LB:  Yeah.  Her Mom’s French.

And that was the end of the subject as far as Little Bookworm was concerned.
