    Helen:

    (a) that’s old news;
    (b) many think he was swept in to be a token Republican to balance all the naughty Democrats;
    (c) he was exonerated;
    (d) he admitted poor judgment (there’s the mea culpa); and
    (e) he’s been scrupulously clean since then.

    Can you say any of that for Obama?

  2. BobK says

    Helen,

    I read through the Wikipedia account. Sen. McCain actually comes out looking pretty good, relative to the others involved. I heard one of the radio commenters today stating that the Democrat selected special prosecutor later said that Sen. McCain shouldn’t even have been implicated in the scandal. I can’t vouch for that.

    Note that Sen. McCain was cleared of any impropriety, but his judgment was questioned. He’s admitted his mistake, and presumably learned from it. Contrast Sen. Obama’s reaction to criticism of his associations. He first will evade (I never heard Rev. Wright say those things… I didn’t know Bill Ayers was a terrorist), then attempt to dissociate (I renounce Rev. Wright’s statements…). He has not, to my knowledge, admitted error in any of his positions or judgments.

    Narcissist, anyone?

    BobK,
    Your closing question “Narcissist, anyone” reminded me of the video of Obama on the campaign plane with the giggling female CNN voters.

    I’ve posted the link before, but I hope no one minds if I do it again. I don’t know which is worse, the thorough unprofessionalism of the reporters, or Obama’s recognition of their immature worship with his pose. The “pose” is pure narcissism.

    Who’s worse: Clinton or Obama? If anyone has any deeper insights into the CNN reporters or Obama than what I’ve wrote, I’d like to read it. I’m not skilled enough to read any deeper than “immature” reporters and “narcissist” Obama.

    (PS – Notice this is LiveLeak, not YouTube. Because YouTube disallows downloads, they have troubling control over video messaging on the web – and nothing else concerning “message” is as important as video. Given the liberal bias at the top of Google (YouTube’s owners), we conservatives may have to focus in the future on deliberately seeking alternatives to YouTube.)
