Do not fear the polls

DJ Drummond, who blogs at Wizbang, has two spectacular articles explaining in simple terms why we shouldn’t blindly trust the polls this year. You should read them, here and here. Bottom line: no matter what the polls seem to be saying, make sure to vote.

Polls mean nothing to Democrats and nothing to Republicans.
Polls are a form of self-fulfilling prophecy. Just like when Democrats talk about ending racism and white privilege, in actuality they are perpetuating racism and white privilege.
Self-fulfilling prophecies mean quite a bit to those that can gain a profit from creating reality from fantasy.
Polls can be used to exploit a seed of doubt, and cause it to flower. In that way, the reporting of poll results, and putting a spin on them, is akin to directly telling the voters that “the race is over”.
Similarly, polls can be used to get the undecided to simply jump on board the ship of the “Winner”, because everyone loves a winner!
“And his ship is headin’ on out, folks, while his opponent’s is drydocked without an engine. C’mon, folks! Hop on! Join the fun, it’s now or never! Join us! Or be left out.”
“Gee… ok. I guess I’d better.”
That, at least, is precisely what the mainstream media is “up” to right now. “Up”, in the most nefarious meaning of the word, I mean.
Book,
Don’t tell me that polls slant toward the Liberal agenda… Shocking!!
Who’d a thunk it?
Encouraging.
I will reference this post on my Blog post.
