And best wishes for a successful new year!

I do wish you peace, but as I fear that is not possible, I will wish you victory instead.

The Iranians and their allies throughout the Muslim world are bent on making the abandonment of Israel the price of “peace in our time.” In a scenario that should ring frighteningly familiar, a charismatic leader of an ideological, totalitarian state is building upon an endemic anti-Semitism inculcated by centuries of religious indoctrination to create an atmosphere in which the massacre of large numbers of Jews and the destruction of their independent polity will be considered a tolerable if not indeed a legitimate eventuality.

That is ominous enough. Even more ominous is the apparent willingness of any number of leaders of the Western world, under the banner of a hoped-for “reconciliation” with a major Middle Eastern power and a world religion, to tilt dangerously toward appeasement, ignoring the requirements of rational decision-making and putting at risk the West’s own abiding interests and deepest values.

As for Israel, if it takes today’s challenges seriously and prepares to meet them with the requisite strength and creativity, this may yet turn out to be its finest hour. If not, we may be witnessing the prelude to its last.

In case you are wondering what’s at stake for all of us, and wish that that dang Israel “problem” would just go away, I give you this: “Swedish Youths Riot”

    Truth Shall Always Be Hidden

Hey, Mike, if you donated 5 million to a Palestinian “charity” that then spent it on suicide bombers, would the FBI prosecute you?

How about if you gave 5 million away in free advertisement to suicide bombers and their murderous regime via paid propaganda on AP wire news, would the FBI prosecute you then?

And so we see that the price paid for us to live in the “Rule of Law” is always by those that the law must protect and never by those that seek to destroy the law.

    This is unsustainable.

How many people, Israelis, Europeans, Americans, Somalians, Iraqis, Afghans, Indians, etc, must suffer before people and their political masters have the will to draw a line in the sand and say Enough?

And Happy Hanukkah to you too, Book, from a follower of Jesus, who was also a Jew. May we always celebrate our common heritage together as friends.

    Happy Hanukkah to you, Bookworm.

    Book…

Do you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, neither or both?

Personally, if I had any Jewishness anywhere in my family, I think I’d opt for at least both…

    Celebrations are good!

    Ymarsakar,

“How many people, Israelis, Europeans, Americans, Somalians, Iraqis, Afghans, Indians, etc, must suffer before people and their political masters have the will to draw a line in the sand and say Enough?”

The Jihadists that hold to the Medinan passages written by General Mohammed in the Koran will never give up. There will always be this “holy war” for there will always be “infidels”. They rioted in Sweden over a lost lease (If ya can’t get along with the Swedes who can ya get along with?). Imagine if you will the gay community protraying Mohammed’s mother and birth in such a manner as the following:

    http://www.religionnewsblog.com/23083/amsterdam-gay-nativity .

Most contemporary Christians are insulted by this kind of thing but we are not rioting in the streets. The mature ones can actually love the sinner (for it takes one to know one) and hate only the sin. Yearly in the States we are seeing less and less tolerance towards Christian people (at least at the State level). Granted we have some bad apples but owning up to that that is the price of admission to Christ for redemption, admitting this and accepting the forgiveness to start anew by following Christ but those that do not change and do not follow but in name only , bearing no good fruit, they are the plane crashes of Christianity – relatively few and far between but severly devastating to all involved.

Political will means an all out routing of the Jihadists (self defense). They will not stop until they suceed in the extermnation of Israel. When She is gone there will be other infidels to kill. Just look at how they treat their own diversity between the Sunni and Shiite alone.

I am afraid that it will take a miracle and even then will it be just be a facade?

That is a fearsome question. The jihadist Islamists are ascendant within their religion and they’re extremely aggressive. In the West, Christianity is almost quiescent, and certainly passive. This is a dangerous imbalance that makes your question fearsome.

The smart jihadist Islamist strategy would be to turn up the heat slowly. But they have their own pressures, so I think they will hit the West too hard too soon, and we will then – and only then – respond.

The Fifth Columnists within the West will try to defang our response, of course. But if the nature of the Islamist attack is sufficiently horrifying, they’ll fail.
