Reminder to Bay Area residents to join the Navy League

If you live in the Bay Area, and you want to have a better Fleet Week experience this October than the guy next door to you, I strongly urge you to join the Navy League. With the NL at your back, Fleet Week suddenly goes from being a spectator sport to becoming a participatory activity.
Just as a reminder, these are the posts I wrote based upon my Navy League experiences:

BW,
Glad to hear (and not surprised) that you’re supporting Fleet Week. The bell-bottom fashion victims need all the help they can get (I say this with PO1 Smith, LT Freese, and CPO Delfs in my own office!). For those not in SF and wanting to support the military, let me put in my two cents for the USO. These folks do a great job, not just for military, but for their families too. I know several families that wouldn’t have made it through six to eight hour layovers while doing military moves if not for the USO. They do great stuff for deployed troops too. I donate when I can; I’ve benefited more than once. Thanks to all who do support; even if only by prayers.

Academic elitists aren’t against Navy ships. After all, they welcomed Nazi Germany’s ships with a proper Harvard reception.
The Navy League is very supportive of the fleet & the USO does good work
Such a shamless plug!
As always, we’re looking forward to Fleet Week. October 13 also marks the Navy’s birthday, and there will be a formal Birthday Celebration Ball for Bay Area sailors and supporters.
I don’t live in the Bay Area, so I can’t join in Fleet Week festivities.
But I did finally order the “Don’t Tread On Me!” Gadsden flag I have been eyeing all summer. With shipping and handling (and 6′ wooden flagpole) a quality outdoor 3×5 flag costs over $50, but I’ve finally decided it’s simply worth it.
Soon I will have my American flag flying near my front door, and my Gadsden flag off at the corner of my house.
Hooray, MikeD! Let this autumn’s Congressional return see a sea of green and yellow from sea to shining sea!
