Israel thumbs its nose at the Obama administration

The Obama administration, without making any demands on the Palestinians who haven’t abided by any parts of the Road Map, insisted that Israel freeze all settlement activity, including such little things as bathroom additions and new floors on houses. The Israeli administration just thumbed its nose at the US:
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak approved the building of 455 housing units in the West Bank, defying U.S. demands for a freeze on settlement construction.
Israel is saying very clearly, to an administration very hostile to its interests: “We belong here, and we will act appropriately. We will not allow you to turn ever more parts of our nation, ours by right of ancient history, purchase, world treaties and war, into Judenrein territory.”
Apparently The One lacks the magic touch when it comes to the Middle East.

Israel thumbs it’s nose and Iran drops it’s pants and delivers its own message.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tehran is ready to talk with world powers about unspecified “global concerns” — but he insisted his government will neither halt uranium enrichment nor negotiate over its nuclear rights.
“From our point of view, Iran’s nuclear issue is over,” Ahmadinejad declared in Tehran.
International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei urged Iran to “substantively re-engage” with the international community and clear up questions about its nuclear ambitions once and for all.
Israel has lived a perilous existence since the beginning – I’m talking way before 1948. If there is anybody who knows what goes on in this world it’s them. They spit in Obama’s beer – methinks the Won may have serious problems within his own party.
No “meddling” in Iran after its “election” and ensuing protest and repression. However meddling in Honduras, and giving Israel instructions on where to build houses, it perfectly OK.

Presidents come and go, but Israel remains.
My very first email to the Netanyahu post election Nov. 2008

Greetings:
Back in my infantry days, part of the folk wisdom was that it’s better to have a soldier as a diplomat than to have a diplomat as a soldier. Hopefully, Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defense Minister Barak, and Israeli Ambassador Oren are getting back in touch with their inner “soldier/warrior”. All three know what it means to have to fight to the death to protect your country and your loved ones.
Just how big a frickin’ hammer do you have to hit this dunce with over the head before he understands that Iran cleared up questions about its nuclear ambitions long ago?
Please, God, let there be a planet somewhere where it’s OK to set out clueless bureaucrats at night to feed the local feral cats.
Dear Charles,
Even feral cats has some level to which they will not stoop.

Roy
Just how big a frickin’ hammer …………
Have no idea, but would be willing to volunteer to try out every size for results.
Who am I kidding .. the hell with results, just let me have a whack at him.

And why not? Everyone else is doing the same, or worse. Yes, the whole world loves us with Barry now our penitent in chief, in the same way that a baby loves its diaper.
