“It’s the People’s seat”

You’ve already seen this video at a million internet sites, but I want it on mine too.  I think Scott Brown made a statement that transcends Massachusett’s politics and should remind each and every American that we are a government “by the People,” not by the politicians:

As you’ve read, Scott Brown is raking in the money, but don’t use that as an excuse not to donate to his campaign.  Not only as Coakley gone horribly negative (although in an illiterate way) but (a) she’s still in the lead in most polls and (b) the unions are playing dirty.  So, if you haven’t already, please consider donating here.

He’s quick on his feet, which is nice, and of course the whole paradigm-shifting thingy is great as well. But what else do we know about him? What has he done in the past that demonstrates he’ll keep his main campaign promise and not allow himself to be bribed?

Kali:  we know nothing about him.  We just know his opponent is worse.  Also, if his election is seen as a referendum on health care, I suspect that’s the one thing he’ll have to follow through on, no matter the bribes.

I don’t like feeling so cynical, but it’s a useful survival mechanism.

I gladly sent his campaign $35 last night — all the way from IL.

I sent him money from Washington yesterday too.  And in Massachusetts, it would not be hard to turn him out of office if he doesn’t live up to expectations.  Right now, I think we need to take this victory if we can get it, saving our caution for the primaries for the mid-terms.

I sent Brown $35 from Florida.  That was the best line from a guy running for office that I’ve heard in a long time.  He truly smoked that oleaginous Gergen.  I wish McCain had shown something like vigor answering Matt Lauer when Lauer asked about vetting Palin for VP.  McCain froze his smile in place when I wished he’d snap that punk Lauer’s head off.

Judging from his campaign website, we know Brown has a lot of Massachusetts voters excited about him, even Doug Flutie. The video clip also demonstrates he pays attention. I did not know that the Obamacare bills also cut Tricare. That is the medical insurance organization for military families. The reimbersment is absurd now.
As per his bio, he’s a home grown boy who has worked his way up the political steps to State Senator and has acquired  endorsements  from business organizations and others who work for a living. Aside from the suggestion he is big on alternative energy, sounds like someone who has his head screwed on straight.  Definitely an improvement to the Olympia Snow wing of the Republican Party. He gets a check.
