“Re-imaged” computer open thread

My computer is in the shop for the final phase of its recovery from the virus attack last week. I should have it back around mid-day. Until then, have fun with an open thread.

    Q. What’s better than an open mic?

    A. An open question.

(CBS News) — In what he thought was a private chat with campaign donors Thursday evening, President Obama offered the most revealing behind-the-scenes account to date of his budget negotiations with GOP leaders last week.
CBS Radio News White House correspondent Mark Knoller listened in to an audio feed of Mr. Obama’s conversation with donors after other reporters traveling with the president had left the room.
In the candid remarks, Mr. Obama complains of Republican attempts to attach measures to the budget bill which would have effectively killed parts of his hard-won health care reform program.
“I said, ‘You want to repeal health care? Go at it. We’ll have that debate. You’re not going to be able to do that by nickel-and-diming me in the budget. You think we’re stupid?’” recalled the president of his closed-door negotiations on the bill to fund the federal government until September.

Read this. It gives new meaning why he’s called the ‘Juan/One’ :)

Juan Perón was the fascist dictator of Argentina who demonized the rich, asserted that the goal of a classless society could be achieved, and praised the construction of an all-powerful central government.

Do we think he’s stupid?  Consider:

“I had the emir of Qatar come by the Oval Office today,” Obama said. “Pretty influential guy. He is a big booster, big promoter of democracy all throughout the Middle East. Reform, reform, reform. … Now he himself is not reforming significantly. There’s no big move toward democracy in Qatar. But you know part of the reason is that the per capita income of Qatar is $145,000 a year. That will dampen a lot of conflict.”

Sheeesh…….he truly personifies stuck on stupid.

Obama is pathetic. I feel embarrassed to be an American as long as this mental and spiritual slob is in the White House.

Many people never understood why I so despised and hated the Left. While it was natural for Leftists to hate conservatives because we were X, Y, and Z, it was, for the supermajority of conservatives, unnatural to actually hate the Left. Disagree with them, yes. Find their politics unwise and foolish, yes. But not hate. The true depth of emotion was lacking. You could only find it amongst conservatives in a small segment, notably those who either defected from the Left or were refugees from Communism. They were the ones who knew the true face of evil and they had the strength of their convictions though muted in exercise. The majority of conservatives only had their belief that Democrats were simply another party, slightly worse than conservatives. The Independents thought that both were as bad: a pox on both their houses.

So they never quite understood where I was coming from. And I never wasted my time seeking to educate them.

For the Left has already educated them far better than I ever could. And what have they learned? They have learned to suffer. And soon they will learn the true reason why the Left ought to be hated. And not just disagreed with. They have not suffered enough to understand the true face of the Left. Not yet. Not even with all that has happened. They yet still do not comprehend the depth of Leftist malignancy, malevolence, and chaotic nihilism. The Leftist alliance is composed of many ideological factions, many contradictory, yet they are bound by an iron purpose and determination. To seek your enslavement. Not destruction. That is only a means to an end. The bankruptcy leading up to the foreclosure, rather than bankruptcy being the goal in itself. They make you broke in order to enslave.

Obama could never do as he has done if the entire Left weren’t behind him. You know this and see it. Yet many people continue to believe that if they only get rid of Obama, all their issues will be resolved. That is foolishness. That is the short sighted view of those interested in winning and fighting over elections. Meaningless conflicts when considering the long term strategic plan of the Left.

In this age of information, we still have ignorance galore. Too many people are misled. Too many know too much of the wrong things while claiming them to be right. If the internet has spread knowledge, it has also spread ignorance amazingly enough. I never knew ignorance could be spread, before I witnessed the Left’s cultists in action.

What the Obamanation did with the budget, a strategic victory encompassing years in the making, creating an advantage out of the weakness of losing the Senate to the GOP, still tells me that we have Yet to see the worst. The Left still has something even better in store for all of us. Look forward to it. If I know them, and I do, it will be a sight to see as it eradicates the lives of millions.

They’re lucky, Ozzie and Helen and everyone else who voted for Obama. They’re lucky they don’t have to talk to me when given a choice. But Obama will be talking to all of us soon enough, and we will have no choice in the matter. This is called fairness by the Left.

How long will stupid humanity have to learn to suffer before humans gain wisdom? It took humanity 20,000 years to figure out it was a good idea to try out an America. How long will it be before they get their next bright idea.

Correction, the House rather than the Senate.

I don’t know if the Left is actively evil or not.  I do know they are committed, body and soul, to the ever-increasing power of the State over every aspect of our lives.  They will always increase the power of the national government.  They will always centralize that power in Washington D.C.   And they will fiercely resist any real attempts to decrease that power.  Cutting 33 billion dollars of the national budget – that is a drop in the bucket that does nothing to decrease power.  Why do you think you hear no howls of outrage from the left over this budget deal?  Why aren’t they in the streets the way they were in Wisconsin?

A focus on the budget is what these politicians do best, but I think it puts the cart before the horse.  They have to focus on cutting the POWER of the national government over our lives.  Why does the national government have to do THIS, or THAT, or X or Y?  Is it necessary?  No?  Then out it goes.  The money, then, goes out with it, and the budget drops.

THEN you will see the howls of outrage.  But to get there, politicians in Washington D.C. will have to reduce their own power!  They are loathe to do that, even our Republicans in the GOP.  Reduce their own power?  Anathema.

    Q. What’s better than saying NO to a signing statement?
    A. A video linking the liar to the lie.
The president signed the legislation based on the deal he negotiated last week with House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) that cuts nearly $40 billion from the government through the end of this fiscal years and advances several policy goals.

But Obama took the key step of issuing a signing statement, a declaration of constitutional interpretation by a president of legislation he or she might sign into law. It essentially notified lawmakers that he would not abide by the section of the law defunding the establishment of so-called “czars.”

Mike makes a good point that if the Left was truly inconvenienced you would see activities on par with the Wisconsin insurgency across the nation. Yet that is not the case. So was the budget really such a victory over the Left as people say it was?
