I’d laugh at the self-parodying OWSers, but I do think they’re dangerous

Zombie has a new post about Occupy’s latest stunt:  The movement’s geniuses, inspired by Earth Day,

[I]llegally took over an entire farm and transformed it into…a farm!

So proud are they of this revolutionary act that they showed off the farm to the media yesterday, so naturally I had to check it out.

Go here to enjoy Zombie’s photo essay.  Before you laugh too hard at these silly people, though, remember that they have the power to destabilize things.  The fact that they’re stupid, ill-informed, and venal is infinitely less important than whether they are successful at manipulating an alternately compliant and credulous media into making them seem like the cool, hip thing to do.

I think that this is wonderful! Once the OWS-ers learn a few planting and harvesting skills, they will actually be employable. All they have to do is hike just over the mountains into the San Joaquin valley, where there are many crops to be picked. They may face some tough job competition from the high work ethic of the Hispanic workers, though. But, what the hay, it’s a start!

Who says that universities no longer teach employable skills?

They have the power to motivate the majority of the silent “leave me alone crowd” to take up arms and blow them up into several million billion occupying pieces, yes, that is certainly their power.

I would really like to see these people try something like that where I live, the state of Georgia. There will be fire and blood in the streets, all right. Mostly theirs.

I read several comments at the Zombie site and loved and second the suggestion that they be left there and fenced in, not allowed to leave, and forced to live on the “sustainable” crops they alone will produce. What a chance to show the world what losers these people are and how they would lead us to starvation. I know that jj, a real farmer, will have some classic remarks. What a bunch of LOSERS!

Their power to destabilize lies in the willful impotence of the University and the State to counteract these illegal actions and tacit approval of the usurpation of property rights.  The failure of leaders to act to stop these actions at their inception only causes the malignancy to grow.

Of course, this their plan.  The undermining of strong property rights is the tried and true method to destroy a country and economy.  They have acted first against public property for public use (Zuccotti, while privately owned was de facto controlled by the city for public use), now against state owned property with restricted access.  Next they will move against some privately owned corporate property hoping to keep the impotence of local politicians as cover against proper enforcement of property rights.  If they are smart, they will avoid private property closely owed by individuals or families as those owners will more readily see their loss and are more likely to move aggressively to force use of police powers to protect their rights.  This would either force the government officials to do their job or reveal their alignment against the continued functioning of a fair civil society.

The Totalitarian Left was never interested in property rights. How can they, when they are interested in owning mansions and looting the wealth off of other people? Your property is not your own because your life is not your own under the Totalitarian dictates of the Left. And if you think you can “compromise” with the Left and make a “deal”, it’s not going to happen.
