A ray of hope — Democrats less enthusiastic, Republicans more so

According to Gallup, Democrats are less enthusiastic about the upcoming election than they were in 2004 or 2008 and Republicans are more enthusiastic than in 2008 and equal to 2004. Not surprising, I guess, but a cause for hope, not just in presidential race but in the Congressional races as well.  Sure doesn’t sound like Obama will have much in the way of coattails at least.

Just how good, accurate and trustable are poll data anyway?

I know I trust polls way more than most readers of this site do.  But, even if I didn’t, I can’t imagine why Gallup would distort this one.  To give Republicans a false sense of security?  I doubt it, especially since Gallup is also reporting that the race itself is a tie.

That’s not a ray of hope, that’s a sad – very sad – commentary on how terrifyingly stupid this country’s become.  What sentient being would want four more years of what we’ve just been through?  Who the hell doesn’t spot that Bareass really is bare-assed, and does not possess one shred of a clue what to do in any direction?  And the democrats are “less enthusiastic?”  Why the hell – simply as Americans – are they not looking to ride him out of town on a rail?  “Less enthusiastic” isn’t going to cut it, I’m afraid.  “Hopping mad and terrified for their country” would be a hell of a lot more like it!  I really don’t want to believe that the American voter really is the dope I think he is.
