Just Because Music: Train’s Drive By

Gotta love it — a catchy song, a non-sleazy video highlighting classic American muscle cars, and lots of Bay Area scenery:

The muscle car video reminded me of two things. When I was last back in my home town, I visited some family friends who are in their late 80s. Sally drives a yellow vintage Camaro with personalized license plates. Every month or so someone asks her if she would be willing to sell the car- I know of several mechanics who have made an offer.
The music reminded me of the Romanian viral YouTube hit of several years ago. Numa Numa or Dragostea Din Tei.

Curious how the mind remembers and associates melodies.

It’s not the same, but hearing the above caused me to say “I’ve heard this melody before, but where?”

You’re right, Ari Tai. Different overall, but definitely a few similar melody lines. I like it.
Ari Tai, that Zhanna Fiske video… I couldn’t help thinking, as pop up-beat and sexually provocative as Lady Gaga, but with MUCH more class and dignity.
