Obama and cocaine

A couple of weeks ago, I pointed to a college-era photograph of Obama, showing him with unusually long nails on his thumb and forefinger. Based upon his own admission of cocaine use in high school, plus a recently published story about Carrie Fisher’s possible “coke nail,” I suggested that perhaps Obama had a coke nail too. I was careful to write that this was nothing more than supposition. Obama could also have had poor hygiene, been posing as a player or, as someone suggested, been a guitar picker.
Today, I’ve got something new to add to the supposition stew: A man claiming to have been Obama’s close friend at college alleges that Obama both used and sold cocaine:
A man claiming to be a close pal to President Obama during college made contact with Republican operatives recently, ready to go public with claims that Obama used and sold cocaine in college, RadarOnline.com is reporting exclusively.
Romney’s campaign rejected the story, which is the appropriate thing to do, given that (a) there is no corroboration and (b) this kind of grubbing around should be left to little bloggers like me, not to presidential candidates.
I don’t think there’s much to be made of the story absent more proof. One man’s testimony and an old photograph do not a compelling case make. But they do make for some ideas one can kick around in idle moments.

Not sure I would buy into the coke nail theory. It doesn’t seem long enough to be useful for this purpose, and he has the same length nails on both the thumb and his index fingers. It seems he was using these two fingers like tweezers for something, maybe holding a joint.
I agree that Romney did the right thing by letting this would-be scandal lie. Obama’s true believers would just see his coke use as yet another example of his laid-back po-mo grooviness, and the whore media wouldn’t touch it anyway.
Romney just doesn’t need it. On almost every other front Obama is unknowingly following the old dictum about hanging back and doing nothing when your enemies are eviscerating themselves.
I am looking forward to Trump’s promised Wednesday bombshell about O. Some people say it will be some new birth certificate revelation, but I think the Donald hinted at a different tack a few months back: O’s college transcripts.

I meant to say that Obama is giving Romney proof in so many ways that the dictum about letting your enemies do themselves in is true. All Mitt has to do is stand by and watch the smartest POTUS evuh sink himself.

At some point in the final week leading up to the election, presidential campaigns drop the negative advertising and switch to positives. Dreams and Hopes and promises of a Better Day for America. I’m thinking they usually start about Wednesday, a week before, and ramp up the positives throughout those seven days.
The Obama campaign *will* drop the negative demonization of Romney and switch to positive ads sometime during the final week. Me, I’m betting the Obama team goes positive… Tuesday, November 6th, at about 4:30 pm.
ps. That way Obama can claim during the post-mortem, with all his usual mammoth deceit intact, “I didn’t lose the election because I stayed too negative. Let me be perfectly clear. Like every other campaign, we went positive toward the end. Our campaign was a positive campaign, as positive as every single other campaign, when it counted.”
