It’s a brave new world in which we live

Ymarsakar nailed our brave new world so perfectly, I have to share:

It’s a strange world when it is the Russians seeking peace and weapons control, and the US is the evil empire bombing civilians to dust for fun and giggles.

It’s weirder than that – old Winter Soldier himself, and Pelosi and Feensteen, fer chrissake – are the hawks???  In what alternate universe did I awake?  They hate this country and hate our military, and never want to see it used, or be successful when it must be.NHow they’re all gung-ho?
Which just goes to what I have said a time or two before: you could run Reinhard Heydrich for office, put a (d) after his name, they’d all vote for him.  When they look within themselves, they see nothing.  They stand for nothing.  They are a morals and standards free zone.  When the jerk with the (d) after his name wants to do something to which they’ve been viscerally opposed all their lives, there they are: standing up to be counted.  If it weren’t so typical for democrats, it’d be unbelievable, but I’ve decided that democrats aren’t really people at all.  At best they’re recently out of the pods, impersonating members of the human race, standing for nothing, and believing in nothing.  They’re a disease.

The weirdness continues: Syrian rebels, who hate Assad and wish he didn’t have chemical weapons, oppose the plan to deprive Assad of chemical weapons.  (“Hey!  We were promised some ‘unbelievably small’ airstrikes, dammit!” one of them was rumored to have said.)
It is said that when Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown, his band played, “The World Turned Upside Down.”  The past five years have provided many opportunities to reflect on that.

Maybe the rebels didn’t have enough bribes for Valerie to get the deal through. Tough nuts goat herders.
