    I had more fun with a client on the stand once.  Opposing counsel was trying to make some point about how a particular investment risk calculation was something no one could possibly understand, and certainly not my client–something so far beyond normal human capacity that it suggested real genius.  A little while later, while answering another question, my client casually mentioned that the calculation was one that his bank had to perform frequently, and that he was the one charged with the responsibility for personally performing it.

    Never liked the concept that being smart entitled people to titles of nobility and “degrees” to rule over us. That kind of aristocratic system doesn’t even have the advantage of being a meritocracy, like the old warrior elites.
