Per an email I received, veterans are organizing to clip the wings of an anti-military Commander In Chief

Marines dismounting from an amphibious assault vehicleI cannot vouch for the following email’s veracity. That is, I do not know whether it’s true that there’s rising distress in the military about the Obama administration or whether it’s true that troops and veterans are beginning to share political information amongst themselves directed at clipping Obama’s wings in 2014. A lot of the information about ROEs sounds old, but the reference to the 2014 election indicates that this is a current email. All I can say is that I got this and found it interesting enough to pass along:

You may not be a veteran but you might know someone who is to pass this on to.

VET’S BACKLASH AGAINST OBAMA, A movement has been started by our armed forces, to get out the vote in 2014. They are organizing themselves, but this can be done by all of us. The President, the Commander in Chief, has made the Rules of Engagement (ROE) so difficult, that our troops are often killed before they can even get permission to fight. Nothing has been done to stop our troops from being murdered by Afghanis they are training, either. Now, the President wants the US to sign on to the UNs International Criminal Court (ICC), which would allow the UNs ICC to arrest and try US troops for War Crimes, without the legal protections guaranteed under US Law, and from which there is no appeal. The President, with his Democratic control of the Senate, has nearly all the power. If the Non-Establishment can take back the Senate in 2014, our troops can once again be protected from unnecessary danger. Please consider this, and send it on to your mailing lists. Thank You and Semper Fi,

Interestingly enough, when GWB was president you heard about the military deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan almost daily. With Obama in the White House, the mainstream media has been strangely quiet. More than 1,000 American soldiers have lost their lives in Afghanistan in the last 27 months. This is more than the combined total of the nine years before. Thirty have died in August. During the last month, over 50 additional NATO and US servicemen have been murdered, inside jobs by those who are hired to be a force for good in Afghanistan .

The commander in chief is AWOL. Not a peep, although he ordered the White House flag flown at half-staff for the Sikhs that were killed. There is a deep disgust, a fury, growing in the ranks of the military against the indifferent incompetence of this president.

It has taken on a dangerous tone. No one knows what to do about him, but the anger runs deep as the deaths continue with no strategic end in sight to the idiocy of this war. Obama has had 4 years to end this futile insanity, during which time he has vacationed, golfed, campaigned, and generally ignored the plight of our men and women in uniform. But, there is now a movement afoot in the armed services to launch a massive get out the vote drive against this president. Not just current active duty types, but the National Guard, Reserves, the retired, and all other prior service members. This is no small special interest group, but many millions of veterans who can have an enormous impact on the outcome of the November election if they all respond.

The million military retirees in Florida alone could mean an overwhelming victory in that state if they all show up at the polls. It might not keep another one hundred U.S. troops from dying between now and November, but a turn out to vote by the military against this heart breaking lack of leadership can make a powerful statement that hastens a change to the indifference of this shallow little man who just lets our soldiers die.

Obama has no concern whether military personnel live or die. At best, his administration’s RoEs are gross incompetence. At worst, they’re treasonous. But like all his other scandals, he relies on the MSM to cover it up. That’s also treasonous.
Sadly, the military are hostages to their own sense of honor and duty: if I were in Obama’s army in Afghanistan, I would simply refuse to obey asinine orders. The military don’t seem to think that’s a valid option.
But what a statement it would make if, en masse, they did.

One addendum: if a handful of military refused to obey RoEs that they considered dangerous, there would be a predictable reaction from the right.
The character of the troops would be questioned.
The right has a fetish for the rule of law. This fetish is sometimes inappropriate, as when immoral orders are given. We need to get over this childish insistence on “obeying the rules” when the game is rigged.

P.P.S. I’m glad to see the military taking the steps mentioned in the article. That’s a big psychological hurdle they jumped to get here.
Now they are “defending the U.S. from enemies both foreign and domestic.”

I told people before that the casualties and blooding in Iraq were minor and very light compared to other wars. People didn’t understand what that meant back then. They don’t understand now. They don’t deserve to understand. They have not survived enough to understand what it means.
But they will. So long as the Left exists. To understand war tactics and strategy requires a human brain. That will not be the place of the members of the Left. And you’re a member of the Left based upon what the Left decides, not what the tools and chickens on the chicken farm decides.

Thirteen years ago I was thirteen. That was before I started paying attention to anything. Could someone point me to links that will give me truth/facts as to why we are fighting this war?

Shirley, originally the country was politically united or so it seemed after 9/11, seeking vengeance or justice against the perpetrators of the terrorist strike on an American city.
Afghanistan was mobilized quickly using special forces and Airborne drops, there were little to no logistics convoy or carrier support yet, so the Special Forces ended up fighting their style of guerilla warfare in Afghanistan, where they were the insurgents and the Taliban were the counter insurgents. Which got the Taliban hammered hard given that the Navy and Air Force could supply precision JDAM strikes based upon GPS and laser guided coordinates, set by the SpecialOps, imbeded with their Afghan fighters. The Taliban weren’t hiding in their caves yet or amongst civilians yet, so they got annihilated by air strikes. Now Karzai was part of one leading faction working with Delta Force, either the Northern Coalition or some such similar group. Before in the past, the Northern Coalition was supported by US forces where the leader was a visionary, who got assassinated by Islamic Jihadists in the vise of journalists (Journo List, they got their own in the ME too). This allowed the Left back at home, later on, to claim that the US supported Taliban terrorists by providing the Northern Coalition (who fought the Soviets) with stingers, sorta like how Seal Teams got shot down in Afghanistan recently by ground to air missiles sold to the AQ in Libya by Hussein’s Regime.
Long story short, Karzai won the war against the Taliban in Afghanistan with the help of SpecOps soon after 2001, 2003 saw the mobilization of forces against Iraq with a bunch of clown wars going on in the UN giving the Left, Colin Powell, and Saddam plenty of time to cook things up the way they wanted to. Ending up with severe problems during the occupation of 2004 and 2005. Saddam’s military evaporated in the invasion of 2003, and the media cheered at this short victory they said would be a quagmire. They thought it was over, so they liked poking at Bush’s back during the outlaw wars of 2004. Fallujah 1 and Fallujah 2 happened in quick succession with “Diversity” Casey of infamous Ft. Hood being put in charge of putting an “iraqi” face on the US occupation, leading to the complete dispersal and AWOL of Iraqi army units in Fallujah 1, requiring the Marines to redo and retrain the Iraqis for Fallujah 2, where we won the city. Then Fallujah 3 recently happened and AQ surged back in and took over, using the munitions, training, and firepower they acquired in Libya and Syria.
As for what Leftists and their enablers in the US were arguing about back then, Bookworm and Neo Neo has plenty of data on that.

People ignored what I said about Bush refusing to declare war, martial law, and various other War Powers acts known infamously to be used by Democrats and Leftists to stamp down on American dissidents. I said:
“So you are saying Bush’s attempts to limit the power given to the President with a Congressional Declaration of War, given that the war on Terrorism will last longer than FDR’s Four terms, to be a bad thing? You would want Bush to go all out, if he believed terrorism was a threat, even that meant electing in a future PResident that will abuse such war powers?”
The usual crowd wanted to put their head in the sand and flap their arms and wave their hands, hoping the rest of the American crowd will be fooled into believing the dream and the Leftist lie.
Future President that will abuse war powers. Even minor bureaucracies such as the DHS and IRS have become totally corrupted.
I don’t have anything specific pertaining the archives going back from 2006 to 2001, where most of the war war stuff happened. But it is easier for me to write my own personal compilation.

The ultimate strategic goal was to reform the Middle East to allow moderates (what people here call liberals when it comes to changing the Left or the Democrat party, a founding member of the Leftist alliance for human utopia) to change the Islamic Jihad. Part of Islamic Jihad’s power comes from the fear of Western civilization, by introducing this poison into the Middle East we could weaken the Islamic Jihad utilizing Western prosperity and benefits. This would put more leverage on Iran and other axis of evil, like Syria, if Iraq and Afghanistan were stable countries from which the US could ally with and base in. This was seen as a better, cleaner, and superior way to win the war than what many military philosophers called for, which is the total annihilation of Saudi Arabia, Mecca, Medina, and Islamic cities.
Leftists like Clinton kept talking about troop casualties due to lack of armor, supplies, and numbers due to the fault of Bush, all in order to make Bush sign various bills for appropriation, with funding attached to TSA and other fascist organizations put on it so he couldn’t line veto them. In the day, every day the media would punch people in the face and in the teeth with the Iraqi casualty lists, from this bomb or that bomb. A very different thing to today, where 3-10x dies in a month compared to Fallujah and the media talks about Michelle Obama’s fashions.
Like most gambles, there was no guarantee of success. If we could apply counter insurgency to the Islamic Jihad in Fallujah, the Left feared that we would do the same to free their black slaves in Detroit, Chicago, New Orleans, and San Francisco’s Oakland. The Left covered for Saddam Hussein in the same fashion they covered for America’s Hussein.
I considered Iraq the last ditch effort of the US military and civilian powers to recover and atone for the betrayal of the Vietnamese in Saigon. The Leftists won in Vietnam. And they are winning in Afghanistan and Iraq, along with their Islamic Jihad allies. We had yet to realize what this alliance meant back in those days. People were talking about Iraq invasion being “premature” or some such, helping the Leftists with their propaganda, while hand waving and proclaiming themselves free of guilt.
Do you hear those so called “independents”, “moderates”, “liberals”, or “republican” anti war Fs talking about pulling out of Iraq or Afghanistan now? They’ve been paid to do a deed and their job is finished, so they quiet down. As usual for paid tools.
