Traitor Chelsea nee Bradley Manning Freed By Obama (Updated)
Just as the progs are pushing the narrative that Wikileaks exposure of Democrat emails amounted to stealing the 2016 election, our Unfortunately Still President But Almost Gone Obama (his now official title) has seen fit to commute the sentence of Bradley Manning. Manning was of course the U.S. Army intelligence analyst convicted of one of the largest leaks of classified documents in our nation’s history. That leak included “hundreds of thousands of military incident logs from the Afghanistan and Iraq wars” and roughly “250,000 diplomatic cables from American embassies around the world showing sensitive deals and conversations.”
True, what Manning did paled in comparison to the probable damage Hildabeast caused by her grotesque treatment of our top secret and reams of other classified information, but that aside, Manning’s acts were intended to harm the U.S. and what he did was a textbook act of treason. The charges for which he was tried included execution as a potential penalty. Manning exposed intelligence methods and individuals supporting us in Afghanistan. In the aftermath of his leaks, the Taliban went on a run of massacres targeting those identified and the many described in the leaks.
One long time Democrat Senator put this commutation in perspective today:
Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) told CNN that Obama’s action was surprising and sent a dangerous message of clemency to those who would endanger national security.
“I’d like to hear why it is that he took this step,” Menendez said. “There are very serious consequences when you release the kind of documents she did… at the end of the day, there was enormous damage done.”
“You cannot ultimately put the United States at risk because of your individual actions… there have to be serious consequences.”
Further, it is worthy of note that no administration has punished leaking of classified information to the press as harshly as the Obama administration — at least except for Hillary and others whose leaking was on behalf of the administration. The whole “Russian hacking” story has been one classified leak after another.
At any rate, Manning is currently in the 6th year of a 35 year year sentence. Yet by Obama’s pen, Manning will now walk free in May. Frankly, nothing Obama does that is antithetical to the interests of this nation or our allies surprises me. That said, while I am not surprised by this, I just do not understand Obama’s specific motivation. How can Obama possibly justify this other than by simply giving the middle finger to our nation as whole and our Defense and Intelligence establishments in particular?
And who do you think is next? My bet is Hildabeast has to be on the list, but there is also the chance that Obama wants to punish her for failing to win the election. Your thoughts?
