Keeping busy, oh so busy
Left the house at 6:45 a.m. for a swim meet, returned home briefly to warm up my little swimmer, and now have to return to the meet ’cause I’m clean-up crew. Next season, I’m signing up for set-up!
I’m very proud of my little swimmer, who went in a few months from a complete neophyte who managed to get disqualified from the majority of her first few races for technical failures, to someone who had best times in each of her strokes today, plus two first place and one second place finishes in her heats. It’s hard work and enthusiasm that did it, my friends, and that’s a good life reminder for me.
So, feel free to use this as an open thread, and I’ll be back later today or tomorrow.
UPDATE: Well, we had some excitement. When I went back to the pool for the second time (clean-up), one of my friends threw her back out and had to be taken away by ambulance. Dreadful for her, but another reminder of the high quality neighborhood in which I live, because the neighbors rallied and took care of everything: stranded cars, children, locating the husband, you name it. And it was done with grace and goodwill. I’ve mentioned in the past what an excellent neighborhood I inhabit, and this was just one more example.
