Pictures of the San Francisco tea party
Click on this link, and you’ll see wonderful pictures of the San Francisco tea party. To the extent that local media was reporting “a few dozen” or “300” attendees, you can see that the media was being, at best, lazy, and at worst, duplicitous. Our own Charles Martel, who actually worked in the media and has some experience making crowd estimates, puts the number at about 700.
I’d just like to say again that the San Francisco Tea Party is something unique. I’ve lived in or near San Francisco practically my entire live and this is probably the first conservative protest since at least 1980, and one of the rare conservative protests since at least 1960. (I’m hedging on the years before 1980 simply because I was young and not politically aware, and it’s entirely possible I missed things. After 1980, though, I’m pretty damn sure that conservative San Franciscans retreated entirely from the public forum.)
