Rupert Murdoch explains why Israel is the canary in the coal mine

So many on the Left have this dream that, if Israel were just gone, the world would be a happy place.  All the Muslims would love us, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, and Iran, and whatever other Muslim country, would become a democratic paradise with equal rights for all, oil prices would drop, violence would vanish and so on and so forth.

Rupert Murdoch understands that the opposite is true.  Israel is the canary in the coal mine.  While she exists, she is the lightening rod.  Were she go vanish, aside from all the horrors that would accompany her departure as a nation, none of these problems would end.  The problem you see, isn’t Israel, it’s the other nations, the nations that demand brutal theocratic control both within and outside of their borders.

I really urge you to read the reprint of Murdoch’s speech to the American Jewish Committee.  It’s an important one.
