I think everyone should in its entirety the speech McCain gave today in Denver. It is the hardest hitting speech yet I’ve seen about McCain’s leadership qualities, and Obama’s complete absence of same (emphasis mine): Thank you for that kind introduction and warm welcome. I want to begin by talking
Continue readingA lot of people have gotten hung up on Obama’s citizen of the world reference when he spoke to the Germans, a phrase that is fatuous, offensive and foolish, depending on how you want to view it. Scott, at Power Line, however, has dug more deeply in the substance of
Continue readingAs part of an excellent analysis of the bizarre pathologies that drive Barack and Michelle Obama in this most weird of political campaigns, James Lewis writes: Barack’s run for President is his big chance to make up for those haunting feelings of self-doubt and worthlessness. So for the Obama campaign,
Continue readingKarl Rove has written a tidy little summary of Obama’s dizzying changes on Iraq:* Throughout 2006 and early 2007, Mr. Obama pledged to remove all U.S. troops, even voting to immediately cut off funds for the troops while they were in combat. Then, in July 2007, he started talking about
Continue readingIn an amusing article that compiles examples of American and European media hysteria about Obama’s world tour (think Madonna and the Beatles, only bigger), Denis Boyles makes an interesting point about the European fixation with an Obama (read: black) Presidency: Anyway, the gist: Europeans really really want Obama to be
Continue readingIt’s no longer a phrase heard much anymore, but the Progressives used to title themselves “the reality based community.” They understood the real world, unlike the cruel, self-centered, self-serving conservatives surrounding them. Of course, that being the case, Obama must be the reality based candidate. However, Cheat-Seeking Missiles, riffing off
Continue readingEverybody’s talking about it and no wonder. “It,” in this case, is today’s Charles Krauthammer article dissecting Obama’s staggering self-involvement and recognizably clinical narcissism. The article is a tour de force insofar as it highlights the worst of Obama’s egotism. I’ll help out just a little here by providing a

Continue readingDick Morris offers a nice, pithy rundown of Obama’s biggest flip-flops (which Morris believes may have contributed to the stall in Obama’s soar): • After vowing to eschew private fundraising and take public financing, he has now refused public money. • Once he threatened to filibuster a bill to protect
Continue readingI doubt he caused this situation, but Obama, during his political tenure in Chicago and later in the Illinois Senate, manifestly didn’t fix it.
Continue readingThe New Yorker magazine highlighted the fact that there are no Obama jokes. For one thing, the candidate himself is too thin skinned to tolerate any humorous remarks about him. For another thing, because of a combination of Obama worship and the fear of being called a racist, the usual
Continue readingObama campaign is clearly a masterful example of the illusionist’s art. As you may recall, he managed to get the press to tout one of his rallies as one of the largest political rallies ever, although it subsequently emerged that it was mostly a big rock band event. He’s also
