I wonder how far the virtues of truth and dissidence go

I saw a series of three bumper stickers, running from left to right across the back of someone’s car today.

This is the first one:

Clearly, this is a person who values the truth above all things.

This is the second one:

photo(6)This is also a person who believes that the oppressed should be allowed a voice, right?

But now look at the third bumpersticker:

I wonder if you suspect, as I do, that the car’s owner would willingly become a lynch mob of one should anybody challenge her manifest belief that the earth is being boiled alive by big business.  Truth and dissidence often lose their money when they shake the foundations of the true believer.

    Well…the author of the second quote is Abbie Hoffman…
    Somehow, I suspect that the person’s perception of “TRUTH” isn’t exactly the same as that of most of us here.
