“We will have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us”

You recognize that quotation, right?  It’s one of Golda Meir’s most repeated sayings.  However, if you’ve been paying attention to the blogosphere lately, you’ll see that the Palestinians, with a lot of help from the Jordanians, are still raising their children to be cannon fodder.  Rick, at Brutally Honest, has my favorite post on the subject.

By the way, on the subject of the Jordanians urging Palestinians to turn their children into human bombs, please recall that Jordan is, in fact, Palestine, a historic reality from the 1920s, which has been assiduously ignored until Geert Wilder had the temerity to point it out.

If I wasn’t so angry at the adults involved in this travesty, I would feel enormous pity for the children.

Moreover, I have seen numerous examples of high-ranking Palestenians who encouraged other people’s children to become “martyrs” while their children went to private schools in Britain.

How parents in that culture could be so stupid as to send their children out to commit murder (and suicide) at the behest of corrupt leaders who would never allow their children to be near the violence is beyond comprehension.

How do we deal with a society like this?  How do we negotiate with them when their values are so warped that they would even contemplate purposely killing Israeli children, much less encouraging the suicide of their own children.

If your neigborhood is full of lions, one might first try leaving meat outside for them.  But after a certain number of your neighbors children being devoured, might not it seem better just to shoot the lioins?  And once the shooting starts isn’t it likely to only stop once all the lions are dead?  Do Muslims not get this?  Do they think that there is no limit to the tolerance and cowardess of Westerners (outside our Dear Leader and his ilk for whom surrender is too assertive and only groveling servitude is acceptable)?  I think they are miscalculating and the joke about playing “Cowboys and Muslims” might become a reality.

My emotional response is to end all foreign aid to any Muslim country, stop trade with any Muslim country, stop negotiations with any Muslim country, halt immigration of any Muslims, bring our soldiers home from Afgan/Iraq and just destroy any threatening group with (conventional) missiles and bombs.

I am sure that this is an over response (ignoring the obvious practical issues) but I can’t conjure up a rationale response that doesn’t feel like surrender.  The behavior of Palestinians in particular (and most Muslims, in general) is so appalling that I cannot see any hope of peaceful coexistence with them.  (I don’t pretend to know what is in their hearts but ultimately it what you do, not what you think that counts.)

If the majority of Muslims condemned this type of thing, condemned Jihad, condemned suicide bombers, condemned anti-Christian violence, anti-Jewish violence, anti-everyone but Muslim violence, I would see these behaviors as that of “extremists” that did not represent most Muslims.  But despite having several Muslim neighbors and Muslim co-workers over the years, I have never heard any such sentiments.  If Islam is a “religion of peace,” as our addled elites love to parrot, Muslims had, in my opinion, better get busy demonstating that before even generous, rational, peace-loving people become less generous, less rational, and less peace-loving and decide to give them the martyrdom they constantly talk about craving.

(It upsets me that I wrote this.  It upsets me even more that I can’t think of anything more reasonable and kinder to say)

What’s News here (not necessarily new news, but news)

She said gang members in prisons in the American southwest are starting to show up with tattoos in Farsi, implying a “Persian influence that can likely be traced back to Iran and its proxy army, Hezbollah.”

Iran-tied terror group Hezbollah may be colluding with drug cartels along the U.S.-Mexico border, a Republican.

“Iranian agents and members of Hezbollah” are thought to be learning Spanish in Hugo Chavez-run Venezuela before trying to obtain false documents to enter the United States as purported Mexicans.

    What’s New here …

An administration that is hell bent on persecuting Arizona by any means necessary. Looking in every nook and cranny for a way to circumvent public opinion and laws to get  illegals baptized by Congress to fatten their voter rolls. Ignoring the Governor of Arizona and sending an inadequate number of National Guard to secure the border (most are relegated to desk jobs).

The Rio Grande River and our border with Mexico is more dangerous than the borders between the West Bank, Jordan and Israel. At least in Israel, they give a damn about securing their borders.

I am finished ranting (or until I have another cup of coffee).
