    If there’s a continuing pattern, you need to arrange for your own witnesses.

    As somebody said recently, it’s the one that returns the punch that gets identified and punished.

    A few decades ago, a parent came into the room to see what the trouble was, and as usual caught the same sibling crying and accusing the other one, so the other one got punished.  Finally, one time the other one said, “If you punished both of us, at least you would get the right one.”  That stopped the parent, so in the future both siblings got the same punishment.   Shortly, the recurring fighting was no more.

    The stakes aren’t as high, but it seems to me that the GOP has much the same problem.  They won’t offer a robust defense against the c**p the Dems sling.
     
    Whatever the stakes, being wimpy leads to bad results…I expect that Israel will clean out the hornets’ nest fairly soon…..I’m not quite so sure about the GOP.

    This comment gave me a thought-  in order to get coverage in the mainstream media, the conservatives have to plan events that are especially newsworthy so that not covering them is difficult– voting “Present” or “Passing Simpson-Bowles with a ‘washing our hands ceremony” might just get noticed. Conservatives might have to get creative to get their true message noticed by even those who tend not to pay attention. Like Breitbart’s offer $100,000 for a video documenting the supposed racist comments which got NO response– Israel and the conservatives/GOP perhaps need to “arrange for your own witnesses.”
