Gracie self-defense video catalog

Steve Maxwell is an amazing martial artist and teacher.  (I’ve trained with him, so I know what I’m talking about.)  I believe he’s in his 60s, but he has the strength and agility of an above-average really in-shape 20-year-old. He’s in demand all over the world as a high-level MMA, jujitsu, and general fitness trainer.

If you’re interested in some down-and-dirty street fighting techniques, you might find his video catalog helpful.

Sounds good (solid principles). It should fit your training repertoire much better, Book, and get you away from that sports mma concept of bigger, faster, stronger. Which I think is cra* btw, and I’ve said so years ago. People who keep thinking of being outmatched by Bas Ruttin all the time, have lost mentally before they’ve even met the physical tiger.
Also I’ve seen the hip joint buster technique, where the user is holding the enemy’s two legs under arm. But it was from a joint breaking perspective.

Funny, he looks a lot like my own Gracie Barra professor. Just about the same age as well (mine is 64).

Book, you ever wonder why martial art instructors aren’t worried much about their DVDs being pirated?
Some of these people get their entire income from teaching, so why hasn’t piracy killed them off or damaged their finances enough for them to hire a legion of lawyers?
Something to keep in mind when thinking of Hollywood copyrights.
