How do Georgette Heyer’s male leads compare with the Harlequin hero list?

Interesting question, David.  Heyer’s heroes are always “gentlemen,” in the old-fashioned sense of the word, meaning that they come from the gentry class or higher.  With a couple of exceptions, they are financially solvent, well-mannered, have excellent senses of humor, are competent in most situations, don’t leap to wild conclusions, and honor society’s mores.  They are emotionally mature people.
