Just because music: Macklemore’s, Ryan Lewis’, and Wanz’s “Thrift Shop”
I’m actually not posting the video here, because even the clean version isn’t very clean. I won’t even copy the entire lyrics here because, even cleaned up, they’re not that clean either.
Why, then, am I making Macklemore’s, Ryan Lewis’, and Wanz’s Thrift Shop one of my “just because” music choices? Because I like the idea behind the lyrics. Rather than telling kids that they’ll be cool if they buy the right brand names or sport the right look, the whole idea behind the song is that it’s stupid to spend a lot of money on designer clothes. You can make your own style, and impress people, just buying at the thrift shop. So herewith some excerpted lyrics that make that point:
