Post-surgery fatigue

It’s amazing how tiring even the most limited surgery is.  I’ve been hopping about today on one crutch, getting done most of the stuff that I needed to get done, but I am just wasted. I feel as if I walked 1,000 miles, instead of just, at most, a mile, or a mile and a half.  I suspect it’s a combination of the extra energy I’m burning with the crutch (my whole body, not must my legs, is doing the walking) plus the fact that my body is using a good bit of energy to heel itself.  I’m also probably still trying to shake off the last of the general anesthetic hiding in my brain’s and my body’s nooks and crannies.

Whatever the reason, I’m just inches or minutes away from complete immobility.  I want to write more.  I just can’t.  I will try to write tomorrow.  If I can just prop open my eyelids….
