Is Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s plan good or bad for Republicans?

Voting boothOne of the things conservatives bemoan is the fact that the view that voters have is filtered through and distorted by the Leftist media. I know that my journey from left to right accelerated rapidly when I first heard about these strange things called “blogs,” decided to investigate, sampled both conservative and Progressive blogs indiscriminately, and concluded that the conservative blogs made much more sense.

I was therefore intrigued to receive the following email from Debbie Wasserman Schultz (I’m on the DNC mailing list) urging me — a putative Democrat — to watch tonight’s debate:

Friend —

I just made it to Simi Valley, California for tonight’s GOP debate and, like so many folks here, I couldn’t be more excited for these Republicans to get up on that stage and tell us what they really feel. I mean, I can say so much about how bad their policies are, but there’s nothing more convincing than hearing it straight from the horse’s mouth.

So I hope you’ll tune in tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET. RSVP here and say you’ll watch:

I think this debate is going to be pretty eye opening. You just know they’ll say some outrageous things that will let the American people know exactly where they stand on the issues, and nothing’s more important than that.

You don’t want to miss this. Trust me.

DWS’s expectations are clear — the Republican candidates will be so appalling, especially The Donald, that Democrat voters will even support Hillary. There certainly is the risk that a debate combining The Donald and CNN can have a bad outcome.

But I wonder…. Maybe some of the people who tune in on response to DWS’s importuning will have an epiphany when they hear Cruz, or Fiorina, or Rubio, or Walker speak about individual liberty, government waste, international dangers, etc. They certainly can’t think worse of the candidates than they’ve already been trained to do.

What do you think?

(Please pardon typos. I’m blogging on my iPhone from the hospital. Mom, by the way, is doing well. She may have been suffering from a slow accretion of blood on the brain for months or even years now. That means her latest fall and bleed were a blessing in disguise by bringing the problem to the fore and allowing her brain to be freed of that slow accumulation of blood.)
