Conservatives deal with facts and reach conclusions; liberals have conclusions and sell them as facts.
A lot of you read the same things I do, so maybe one of you knows where I can find an excellent opinion piece I read the other day urging the Obama administration to stop providing nuclear educations for Iranian engineers. Iran, after all, has committed itself to our imminent
Continue readingWe all know that Palestinians are victims, right? That’s why they get a free pass for eating up billions of dollars in foreign aid without establishing viable communities, for launching tens of thousands of missiles aimed at Israeli civilians, and for periodically boarding Israeli buses or entering Israeli restaurants to
Continue readingYou and I know the incredible peculiarities of the Leftist world, which sees feminists ignoring sharia’s worst outrages and gay activists who are out in full cry trying to establish a fully Muslim Middle East, a place in which the only good gay activist will be a dead gay activist.
Continue readingI had another fascinating conversation with a liberal who offered this take on the situation with Israel: Because everyone hates Israel, it’s a brilliant strategy for Obama to attack it to raise his standing in the world. Israel wants this too. I bet you $100 that we’ll learn that this
Continue readingSo many brilliant people have written about Obama’s full frontal attack on Israel. Each has said something important, and all are very worrisome. Peter Wehner, however, has most neatly nailed the moral component, the personality issue, behind Obama’s disgraceful behavior (behavior so disgraceful even the London Times caught on). Here’s
Continue readingI like the speech that Netanyahu gave to AIPAC. It’s straightforward and practical. It hurls no insults, but also pulls no punches and tells no lies. It acknowledges threats, but responds to them without ugliness or panic. And it draws big, clear, non-weasely bright-lines, telling what a viable, ancient nation
Continue readingCaroline Glick spells out what Obama has done: Obama’s ultimatum makes clear that mediating peace between Israel and the Palestinians is not a goal he is interested in achieving. Obama’s new demands follow the months of American pressure that eventually coerced Netanyahu into announcing both his support for a Palestinian
Continue readingFamily commitments meant that I spent, perhaps, 5 minutes at my computer this weekend. That wasn’t what I’d planned, but that was what I ended up with. In today’s news cycle, of course, two days can be the equivalent of two decades. Certainly, when I turned the computer on this
Continue readingJeffrey Goldberg catches Andrew Sullivan making egregiously erroneous statements about Israel’s history, this time by publishing at his site a series of maps that purport to show that Israel has no claim to most land she now holds: The first map in the series of four is most egregious. It
Continue readingFinally, Israel lashes back . . . at the misrepresentations in the European media. Anyone who speaks Hebrew, French or Spanish, will have a huge advantage over me when it comes to appreciating the videos at that site. To learn more about the ad campaign if you don’t speak those
Continue readingBrutally Honest brought to my attention the fact that the Presbyterian Church in the United States (PCUSA) has released a statement denouncing Israel in terms that a Hamas member or Ahmadinejad could easily love: The Presbyterian Church in the United States (PCUSA) is about to release a report which denounces
Continue readingBruce Kesler spoke with Tom Campbell directly about Israel, and the responses are more nuanced and less hostile than other reports indicate (see my earlier post, for example). Please check it out. The best voter is a fully informed voter.
Continue readingI have predicted several times that, in a choice between Iran and Israel, Middle Eastern nations will back Israel, not because they have developed any fondness for her, but because they recognize that, while Israel makes a great rhetorical scapegoat, Iran is the real threat. I’ve also said that America’s
Continue readingFor anyone struggling to understand what has happened in the Middle East since the Oslo “Peace” Accord, I cannot recommend anything more highly than Evelyn Gordon’s Commentary magazine article, The Deadly Price of Pursuing Peace. The so-called peace process, by destroying Israel’s long-standing legal rights, caused her to lose focus
