Two quick hits as I try to scrape the children out from underfoot

First, Martin Berman-Gorvine has come up with a key for decoding Times-speak.  It’s written as satire, and it definitely works well at that level, but the truth behind it rather leeches away some of the humor.

Second, if you’re in the market for tools, CHANNELLOCK® might be just the company whose tools you want to purchase — because of this.  Snapped Shot gives much more information.

As an aside, and sort of related to the CHANNELLOCK® post, my Mom, who lives in a retirement home, reported to me that all residents got a message from management telling them that California’s “Democratic assembly” (management’s phrase, not mine), was planning on taxing their retirement.  I think management is hinting that residents might want to get off their liberal *sses and vote Republican this fall.
