The San Bruno fire
I deeply appreciate the emails some of you have sent me asking me if I’m okay. I live about 25 miles away from the San Bruno fire, so I was totally unaffected by it. I can see it in my mind’s eye, though. Growing up in San Francisco, I traversed that area of the Highway 280 corridor innumerable times. Whether visiting family members, shopping malls, or the airport, every trip took me by San Bruno. I’ve even gone house hunting near that neighborhood.
My thoughts are very much with the families of the people who died, as well as with the families who watched their homes destroyed.
